Overview Job Title: Family Medicine Residency (FMR) Core Faculty Employment Type: Full-Time Organization: Central Maine Healthcare Location: Lewiston, Maine Position Overview Central Maine Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Family Medicine Residency Core Faculty Physician to join its Graduate Medical Education (GME) team in Lewiston. The Core Faculty member will play a key role in resident education, curriculum development, clinical supervision, and scholarly activity within the Family Medicine Residency Program. This physician will work closely with the Program Director and GME leadership to support a high-quality educational environment that meets ACGME accreditation standards while delivering exceptional patient care. Residency Program Leadership • Assist the Program Director in administration and oversight of the Family Medicine Residency Program. • Participate in resident recruitment, interviews, and selection processes. • Mentor residents in scholarly activities, research, and quality improvement projects. • Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives. Academic & Scholarly Activity • Participate in research, publications, or presentations consistent with ACGME faculty expectations. • Serve as a mentor for resident research projects and scholarly work. • Participate in faculty development activities and academic committees. Compliance & Accreditation • Ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and institutional GME policies. • Participate in Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) meetings. • Maintain documentation of faculty scholarly activity and teaching contributions. To learn more, visit [link in the portal] Responsibilities • Provide direct clinical supervision and teaching for Family Medicine residents in inpatient and outpatient settings. • Participate in didactic teaching, case conferences, and academic curriculum development. • Maintain an active clinical practice while serving as an educational role model for residents and medical students. • Supervise residents in continuity clinic and hospital-based patient care. • Promote evidence-based medicine and quality improvement initiatives within the residency program. Qualifications • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school • Board Certified in Family Medicine (or Board Eligible with certification within required timeframe) • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine • Experience in graduate medical education or teaching residents preferred • Strong commitment to medical education, mentorship, and patient-centered care Employment Status Full Time Shift Days Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
