Position Highlights
Position Summary:
The Exercise Specialist works collaboratively with a registered nurse in the daily coordination and delivery of cardiovascular rehabilitation services. The Exercise Specialist is responsible for developing an exercise plan of care, assessing, implementing and evaluating the care. The Exercise Specialist will follow up on patient referrals from health care facilities to admit new patients to the program and schedule patient follow up appointments. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the Exercise Specialist coordinates patient care with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. In addition, the Exercise Specialist performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science required.
2-3 years of cardiac patient care experience with strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Additional certifications are required as follows: BLS within 30 days of employment, ACLS within one year of employment.
