We have an opening for a Senior IT Project Manager.
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, governance, execution, and delivery of a portfolio of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Knowledge Management, Collaboration, Search, AI Enablement, and Digital Workplace initiatives. This role serves as the primary coordination point between business stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, and technical teams to ensure projects and programs are delivered successfully and aligned with firm priorities. The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for driving project execution while also maintaining visibility across the broader portfolio, managing dependencies, risks, governance activities, communications, and resource planning. The ideal candidate possesses strong project and program management experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced professional services environment supporting multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities of the Senior IT Project Manager are:
Portfolio & Program Management
• Manage a portfolio of technology projects, enhancements, operational initiatives, and strategic programs across Enterprise Content Management, Knowledge Management, Search, Collaboration, and Digital Workplace platforms;
• Maintain portfolio roadmaps, project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource plans;
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize initiatives based on business value, strategic objectives, resource availability, and organizational priorities;
• Establish and maintain portfolio reporting and executive dashboards to provide visibility into project health, delivery status, risks, and resource utilization; and
• Identify cross-project dependencies and proactively coordinate activities to ensure successful delivery across the portfolio.
Project Leadership & Delivery
• Lead projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, adoption, and closure;
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and success criteria;
• Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, RAID logs, communication plans, deployment strategies, and project documentation;
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, scope changes, and dependencies;
• Facilitate project team meetings and ensure accountability for deliverables and action items; and
• Conduct project retrospectives and drive continuous improvement efforts.
Governance & Executive Communications
• Establish and maintain project governance structures appropriate to project complexity and organizational requirements;
• Prepare materials and facilitate steering committee meetings, governance reviews, leadership updates, and project decision forums;
• Ensure projects comply with PMO standards, SDLC processes, change management requirements, and organizational governance frameworks;
• Provide concise and actionable executive-level communications regarding project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations; and
• Escalate issues appropriately and drive timely resolution of critical project concerns.
Stakeholder Management
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, department leaders, IT teams, vendors, and executive sponsors;
• Facilitate requirements gathering, discovery workshops, planning sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings;
• Drive consensus among stakeholders with competing priorities and objectives; and
• Serve as a trusted advisor to project sponsors and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Resource Planning & Vendor Coordination
• Partner with technical managers to forecast resource needs and manage capacity across the portfolio;
• Coordinate project activities involving internal teams, consultants, and third-party vendors;
• Monitor vendor deliverables, commitments, timelines, and project dependencies; and
• Identify resource constraints and recommend mitigation or prioritization strategies.
Organizational Change Management & Adoption
• Support organizational change management, communications, training, and user adoption activities;
• Ensure business readiness for project deployments and major platform changes; and
• Partner with business stakeholders to align technology solutions with operational processes and business objectives.
In this capacity, the Senior IT Project Manager will:
• Drive end-to-end project management for infrastructure projects and cloud deployments;
• Manage cross-functional project teams and resources responsible for successful completion and delivery of projects; Manage project team performance and set goals; Ensure teams’ continuous professional project delivery development;
• Define project scope, goals, timeline and resources required; acquire the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals within deadlines and budgets;
• Plan, schedule, and track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables;
• Leads project team adoption of the Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through coaching and articulation of process value;
• Leads complex and high priority projects through SDLC stages/phases while informing proper stakeholder bodies of progress;
• Create artifacts and documentation as needed, such as a Project Charter, Project Plan/Schedule, Deployment/Rollout Strategy and other project management deliverables to summarize scope, status and budget;
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations; Conduct project post mortems and implement recommendation reports;
• Assist with capturing requirements, analyzing data and defining operational procedures;
• Facilitate coordination and collaboration between Department stakeholders, Project Leadership and Team Members;
• Using critical thinking, offers optimization solutions to processes and technology;
• Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate issues/risks and manage scope/budget changes effectively;
• Work beyond scheduled hours as required; and
• Handle additional related projects as necessary.
Proficiencies:
• Expert knowledge of project management best practices;
• Advanced knowledge of software development procedures and tools;
• Advanced knowledge of customer service practices and philosophy;
• Advanced understanding of technical terms, documentation and technologies;
• Advanced understanding of ITSM (IT Service Management) policies, standards and procedures;
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications; and
• Advanced proficiency in Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, Portfolio and Structure.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred);
• Project Management Professional [PMP] certification (preferred);
• At least 8 years of information technology experience;
• At least 5 years’ of experience in a professional services, legal, technical or software environment (preferred);
• At least 3 years’ executive level engagement and customer service; and
• At least 3 years’ Agile, SCRUM or waterfall/agile hybrid experience.
The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $155,500 and a maximum of $202,500 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
The salary wage range for Boston that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $155,500 and a maximum of $202,500 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
The salary wage range for Washington, D.C. that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $145,900 and a maximum of $189,900 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
