Descripción del empleo (original, en inglés)

The instrumentation-focused Specialist works closely with Medical Physicists to ensure the highest standards of imaging quality, equipment performance, and operational reliability across multiple diagnostic imaging modalities. Primary responsibilities include acquiring comprehensive measurements of equipment operation, function, and performance. This position will have particular emphasis on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound (US), and Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) systems. The specialist is expected to maintain a strong working knowledge of imaging equipment, performance testing procedures, and associated documentation. Responsibilities include conducting and documenting performance evaluations; ensuring high standards of data collection, image reconstruction, and data analysis; and supporting quality control, calibration, and system optimization activities. Because performance testing and data collection must often be coordinated around clinical operations, this position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when imaging equipment is available. Successful candidates will possess a strong background in physics, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, along with enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The role requires the ability to organize and execute imaging data acquisition and image-processing projects with attention to detail and scientific rigor. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as the specialist will interact regularly with physicists, technologists, administrators, vendors, and other institutional stakeholders to support the department's clinical, innovation, and quality improvement missions. Bachelor's degree required by the time of hire; degree in a physical science, engineering, data science, computer science, or mathematics is required. Excellent computer skills, technical problem solving skills, flexibility in work hours, and ability to work evening and overnight shifts. Ability to manage time, cooperate with others, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed measurements using high quality instrumentation. Proficiency with computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy. Internal applicants are required to attach their three most recent performance appraisals. None
