About the Job Summary of Position: Are you an organized, detail-oriented administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment? Join the Emergency Medicine team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, where you'll play a vital role in supporting physicians, advanced practice providers, and department leadership while helping ensure the smooth operation of one of the hospital's busiest clinical departments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing administrative coordination, problem-solving, project management, and collaboration in a mission-driven healthcare setting.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Coordinating daily administrative operations, including scheduling, meetings, correspondence, departmental events, recordkeeping, and maintaining confidential files to support physicians, providers, and leadership. • Managing departmental reporting and operational support by preparing reports, maintaining databases, tracking statistics, coordinating projects, and ensuring deadlines are met. • Serving as the department liaison by collaborating with internal partners—including Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and Information Technology—as well as external vendors to support departmental operations. • Supporting physician and departmental workflows by coordinating onboarding and personnel activities, monitoring office supplies and equipment, and helping ensure billing documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner. • Promoting operational excellence by resolving day-to-day issues, participating in quality improvement initiatives, supporting departmental committees, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and service. Minimal Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. (Associate's degree in business, accounting or related field is preferred) • Progressively more responsible administrative job-related experience is required. • Experience in a medical office or ambulatory health setting is preferred. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Access software applications. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position has a hiring range of USD $49,192.00 - USD $87,422.00 /Yr.
