Job description

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: 2 Week Orientation will require classroom time in Springfield, MA for local colleagues Position Purpose Reporting to the Manager Patient Access, the Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing, assisting with the billing process for reimbursement of provided services, and assisting with the outpatient registration process. What you will do • Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic testing appointments and provide testing requirements and instructions to patients • Interview patients to obtain and/or complete testing documents, medical case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms • Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, copiers, fax, and use of computer systems including database entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent required • 2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferred • Minimum of 6 months customer service experience required • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Position Highlights and Benefits • 40 Hours per Week - 1st shift (Days) • Mostly Mon-Fri but rotating half day Saturday (differentials apply) • Orientation first two weeks includes classroom time in Springfield, MA for colleagues living within 50 miles • Great Benefits and Health Insurance Coverage - Starting Day 1 Ministry/Facility Information Saint Francis Hospital is committed to exceeding the expectations of our patients and families by providing world-class service in a progressive, people-centered, compassionate health care environment.   We are licensed for 617 beds and 65 bassinets, are a major teaching hospital and the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
